Shambhalodging Site Supervisor
Shambhala Music Festival is looking for a Site Supervisor for our Shambhalodging team this festival season!
This is a seasonal position and will be required to work on the festival site between May-August.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee the Tent team as they set-up/take down lodging tents (Bassics, Fancy Pants, Belle-Luxe), including bedding and add ons
- Oversee the Landscaping team as the build sites, weed the grounds, and beautify Lodging
- Ensure that Post Show inventory is completed before leaving the site
- Ensure the lodging warehouse and storage buildings are kept clean, organized, and secure
- Maintain a high level of positivity, support and encouragement towards Lodging crew
- Assist the Lodging Manager in managing the work crew and any tasks they assign
- Train and supervise Lodging crew through the process of setting-up and tearing-down Lodging amenities and equipment
- Run daily tailgate meetings with all crew members at the beginning of each shift
- Monitor the zone, looking for potential hazards and first-aid issues and reporting them when necessary
- Monitor the well-being of the Lodging crew, ensuring that the team is properly equipped for their jobs and are receiving adequate breaks and water
- Ensure that crew members have the skills and tools required to complete their assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner
- Train and supervise Lodging Assistant Supervisors and Volunteers as directed by the Lodging Manager
- Ensure daily tailgate meetings are run with all crew members at the beginning of each shift
- Help develop and implement policies and procedures
- Analyze processes and seek ways to improve efficiencies
- Review Lodging build schedule daily with Lodging Manager and track progress toward weekly team goals
- Complete daily Journal and post-show reports, handing in to HR before leaving the farm
- Encourage a community feel and develop culture in a positive way
Qualifications:
- Experience supervising a team and delegating tasks required
- Comfortable using a radio to communicate
- Experience camping in the outdoors valuable
- Experience working in (construction, laboring, events) management an asset
- Creative problem solving skills
- Must be physically fit and comfortable lifting more than 60 lbs
- Strong Leadership qualities and ability to motivate and empower crew members
- Valid full Canadian driver’s license
- At least 3 years’ experience managing a team of 10 or more
- Festival experience an asset
