HSE Coordinator

We are looking for an HSE Coordinator to join our team for the festival! The position will work on the festival site near Salmo, BC from June 23 - July 28.
Safety is our #1 priority. Our HSE Coordinator will conduct safety audits, ensure compliance with our Occupational Health and Safety program, perform investigations, and ensure our team has the proper certifications to complete their work safely. Responsibilities Include:
- Determine health and safety goals and strategies for the company ensuring that they meet all fiscal, strategic and legislative requirements
- Develop and review policies and procedures ensuring that all health and safety measures are being taken
- Ensure that all governmental legislation is being followed at all times and in all facilities
- Review all health and safety reports analyzing compiled data to determine areas of improvement
- Supervise and lead the HSE team on the festival site
- Assist in conducting inspections of the workplace ensuring safety standards are met and being enforced consistently
- Direct planning projects aimed at integrating health and safety activities into the company’s production efforts
- Manage non-compliance offenses of a high level
- Manage investigation and reporting of health and safety incidents and hazard assessments
- Maintain a strong knowledge of upcoming changes in legislation in order to pro-actively begin implementing and developing procedures
- Review job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures and write reports and recommendations
- Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs/seminars for Site manager
- Keep up to date on machine or equipment changes ensuring that safety precautions are being taken into account
- Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs
- Research occupational safety information to assure the best available methods and equipment are adopted to minimize the hazards in the work place
- Advise on improvements in tracking and reporting procedures
- Periodically act as a team leader to special task forces or teams
- Provide training to managers and others on occupational safety issues
- Attend OHS Committee meetings
Qualifications Include:
- Radio operations and protocol
- Must be a strong multi-tasker, and must excel at coping with conflicting priorities and deadlines
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the workers’ compensation legislation and Worksafe BC directives.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for a challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the workers’ compensation legislation
- Must be extremely organized and a self-starter; able to work with limited supervision
