Position Dates: Drone Pilot positions work during the festival week from Jul. 20-27, 2026, on the event site near Salmo, BC.
The Advanced Drone Pilot plays a key role in providing aerial support for on-the-ground teams, management, and dispatch. They’ll assist in situational awareness, crowd monitoring, emergency response coordination, and help us see what can’t be seen from the ground.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Operate drones in accordance with Transport Canada’s Advanced Operations regulations.
Provide real-time aerial support for festival security, safety, and dispatch teams.
Utilize drones equipped with thermal imaging to assist with nighttime monitoring and search scenarios.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, medical, security, and operations teams.
Ensure all drone operations are conducted in full compliance with Transport Canada regulations and the conditions of the Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Valid Advanced Drone Pilot Certificate (Transport Canada)
Experience flying drones in high-traffic or large event environments
Experience with thermal imaging drones.
Experience operating RPAS under Transport Canada SFOC authorizations.
Previous festival or emergency services experience is an asset.
Adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing conditions.
Highly organized with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates urgency and resourcefulness in solving problems.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Quick thinker who can make sound decisions under pressure.
Able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines.
Proactively identifies opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Excels both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to work in a culturally diverse work space without personal judgments or bias.

Pay Rate:
$30 per hour.
