Office Assistant
Looking for a dynamic role with variety and purpose? Join our team as an Office Assistant and play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations across a range of exciting projects and business ventures.
As a valued member of the SMF HQ team, the Office Assistant is the first point of contact for visitors and supports smooth operations across various departments. The Office Assistant oversees the office environment, facilitates efficient communication, and supports tasks across multiple business ventures, including the Savoy Hotel and Bloom Nightclub.
Contract Dates: June 15 to late September 2026.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule.
Work Location: This position will work primarily at our office in Nelson, BC, and will not work at the festival site.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive administrative support to staff and management.
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and mail runs.
Welcome visitors, direct them to appropriate personnel, and provide general office reception support.
Maintain office cleanliness and order (e.g., watering plants, restocking supplies, coordinating with cleaning services, implementing recycling programs).
Manage office and kitchen inventory; proactively address building maintenance needs.
Provide additional support at the Savoy Hotel, Bloom Nightclub, and Billy's Auto Service Ltd. as required. (ie- Assist with guest services, housekeeping, and liquor inventory checks, recycling)
Organize team events and festivities to boost workplace morale.
Facilitate clear communication across business units
Assist with procurement for the festival.
Assisting with merchandise inventory & supporting the graphic design team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum one year of office administration or other relevant experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Google Workspace; quick to learn new software.
Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.
Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Valid passport (an asset for occasional cross-border tasks)

Strong problem-solving abilities with a sense of urgency.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Works well independently and as part of a team.

Pay Rate:
